Dear Dinkletown

1. Musical taste is not abullet-proof science. I mean no disrespect by stating it didn't do it for me.

2. I share your opinions on pre-made loops: It dont make you a composer cause you can drag and drop pre-recorded music. Still, self-recorded music can be boring and, in the hand of a gifted composer, amazing stuff can be created by tinkering around with loops from loopmasters.com and such sites.

3. 20 years ago some band named ENIGMA scored a huge hit playing drums over gregorian chants. I admire how they got on top of the charts and made money from it. They're no more starving musician and I encourage that any day of the week and this is what I wish to Steevie Deez and his music.
Having said that, Enigma's music always sounded ridiculous to me even though it went number 1 in 41 countries. It was a gimmick and gimmicks, no matter how successful they are, should be seen for what they are, sometimes easy ways to a payday, but still gimmicks at the end of the day ( in a Art for Art kinda way).

4. I acknowledge Steevie Deez's song is the most contrasting/easily recognizable song from the whole bunch on this particular competition. And as I was listening to it the first time around, I knew it would be scoring points with listeners. But for my own taste, that particular piece is still middle of the road. To me, Steevie's maturity is still to come. I maintain that a better integration of influences is necessary. But somewhere down the road I strongly suspect originality might strongly emerge within this kid's music. He knows for sure how to makes a musical impression.

I invite Steevie Deez to try it for fun, to hear with the results might be: Composing using that techno/jazz fusion, the tenth song from now, I'm incline to believe, might have that quality I"m talking about. As I a music lover would very much enjoy listening to it;

wtf are you going on about? as you can hear this is one of the few songs in this compitition that DOESN'T just use pre made drag and drop loops from loopmasters.com. I think thats pretty original.

Unoriginal parts from various stlyles pasted together to create that strange hybrid of a song. Too many folks out there confuse ideas like ''part of a song in a style, the other in some other'' as originality. The idea is to assimilate these contrasting styles, let them sink in, and then one day these various elements kick in and create something original. But let them churn for a while
