Tunefunk is a composer, producer, remixer, musician and a lover of really good music. Tunefunk blends genres in his production taking influence from house music; jazz, latin, brazil, afro, soul, funk and all the sounds he may find interesting.
From many years of playing the bass and keyboard in jazz, soul/funk bands he started to compose his own electronic music under the alias “Tunefunk”. Released an album by himelf through CdBaby called ”Volume 1” in 2006, and that was more concentrated on chill out/downtempo and some deep, soulful house. They were all instrumental with some vocal samples.
Through some demos and the album he got some connection with the Soulshift Music label who were interested in releasing the track ”We Need Love” (2008), and after that he has released 3 Ep’s with them, so far being; Vibe EP (2008), Maestro EP (2009), Hold On EP (2010). These are all deep, soulful house tracks with a lot of jazz and latin influences. Some tracks like ”Maestro and ”Mint” are more progressive, minimal and tech and you could find them on a lot of compilations during that year, while his latest ep got back to the jazz and soul roots with some influences of broken beats and nujazz.
Through the Soulshift music label he also got the chance to produce some remixes, like the remix of Distant People ”No Ain’t Done” and two remixes for Grace Armoed ”Call me Cinderella”. During this time he also made the funky and broken beat remix of Ray Harris and The Fusion Experience ”Scaramunga”, through the Record Kicks label.
